10-Year Retrospective Exhibition

"Celebrating the Genius of Women"
by Maria Guerrero, Founder & Exec. Director, Women in the Arts Inc.

In this series we present works by Floridian artists Agata Powers, Anna McCambridge, Claire Paul, and Desislava Staykova-Learn from Düsseldorf, Germany.

Agata's portrait "Little Frida" asserts the importance of gaining confidence from an early age through a positive, strong, beautiful image of self; resonant and inspired by the renowned artist Frida Kahlo.

"Inner Bliss Of The Lion Hearted"
During a year of pandemic and civil unrest, Anna chose to celebrate "Black Joy."

"Fragility"
Claire, a visual artist and musician, responds to a performance direction inspired by the fragility of nature. The high-contrast portrait is juxtaposed against a negative space impression of a fern, connected by glass bead elements.

In her photograph "Pulse," Desislava simultaneously reconstructs reality into a minimalist abstraction by choreographing angles, scale, and time. The artist directs the eye into a newly discovered, alternate world.

View the Digital Exhibition for more works by these artists, and all fifty-eight participants from Orlando and abroad.

A collection of works by twenty-two local artists is on view at the Orlando Public Library until April 23.

Enjoy the exhibition, connect with us and the artists on social media, and support us by sharing this message with your audience.
