Preview: Spring Workshop with Regine Dossche

This spring, Women in the Arts in partnership with the Southwest library is sponsoring a specialty media workshop with teaching artist Regine Dossche, bringing a unique opportunity to the public to access an exclusive, interactive studio experience with the artist.

Regine is a Belgian artist and workshop instructor, residing in Orlando. Regine is also one of the first Women in the Arts' exhibiting artists and instructor at the Community School of the Arts program. Regine is admired for her professionalism as business owner and artist, for her steadfast dedication, artistry in watercolor and mixed media, and for her excellence as an instructor.

Regine began her artistic career as a watercolor artist until she discovered Powertex, a trendsetter in mixed media and sculpting techniques. This product unfolded a new world for Regine. Open to experimentation, Regine does not limit herself, expanding her goals and interests well beyond being a painter, sculptor, and mixed media artist. She wants to do it all, and her enthusiasm overflows into her teaching, as she is always excited to share her techniques with the beginner and advanced student alike.

About the project for this class, Regine says:

"The painting with fossils is very special to me. It brings so many memories of the beach, shells and all the beauty that the sea offers. First we will add texture and color to our canvas. Fossils will be made with air dried clay. Students can make their own composition and bring seashells to incorporate in their painting."

Regine has worked with Powertex for over ten years. Regine's last exhibition was held at the Winter Garden Art Association. Her workshops have been offered in Arizona, Texas, New Mexico, and in Florida in Orlando, Sarasota, Siesta Key and many other locations.
